The City of Cortez Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce that playgrounds are coming to the Third Street and Harrison, and Fourth Street and Market Pocket Parks. The playgrounds will help activate the spaces, encourage more local activity, give children an added outdoor space to enjoy, and inspire neighborliness and interaction. We are so excited to deliver this well-needed enhancement!
We are already through the bidding process and have a playground selected that maximizes the space available at each site. Please review the playground diagram attached. There are elements planned for each site that encourage climbing, sliding and fitness, cognitive development, socialization, and spinning.
The project goes to City Council for approval on September 12. Should you have questions, comments, or concerns, please share them with Creighton Wright, Parks and Recreation Director, before the City Council Meeting date.
